January 27, 2020 Good Samaritan Museum and St. George monastery

We went on a student field trip to The Good Samaritan Museum, which is on the highway from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea.  There was a Byzantine church there that also acted as a place of rest to pilgrims or travelers from Jericho to Jerusalem.  There were many beautiful mosaics which have been preserved.

After going to the Good Samaritan Museum we went to the St. George Monastery, which is built into the mountain wall.  Several Bedouin were there to sell donkey rides and trinkets.
