Arab Night May 22, 2019

Each semester the students have an "Arab Night" where they have a Sheikh come and do the Call to Prayer (that we hear at 4:30 AM, as well as 4 other times a day) and explain it.  It turns out it is taken from the Koran.  The person explaining also said the Koran talks about Mary and Jesus, although Muslims to not believe that Christ is the Son of God.  After the demonstration we all went to the Oasis (the cafeteria), where the chef and assistants had made an authentic Arab meal.  I should have taken a picture of it--next semester I will!  After the meal an Arab drummer and bagpiper came in (these were youth about the age of the students) and a mosh pit ensued.  It was really fun!
